Award Criteria:
- Documented service and outreach in teaching and extension
- Developed or published materials
- Contributions to organizations, including AFCPE
- Innovative program or curriculum development
- Documented program impact
- National, international and community recognition
- Service to the profession
- Service to the community
- Mentoring that supports the whole person
- Applicants should emphasize contributions from the past 3-5 years while including relevant career accomplishments as appropriate.
The Mary Ellen Edmondson Educator of the Year award includes a $500 prize as well as a plaque.
*If you are a federal employee and receive this award this may be considered a gift. There may be federal regulations around employees receiving gifts. Please refer to the federal ethics regulations or your employer for clarity.
*If a recipient is unable to accept the monetary award, AFCPE may, upon request, direct the award amount as a charitable contribution to the AFCPE Strategic Impact Fund or another eligible nonprofit organization approved by AFCPE.
