Consumer information nominated must align with and adhere to:

The AFC Core Competencies
The AFCPE Mission
The AFCPE Code of Ethics


Submissions should be educational in nature and may not primarily promote a commercial product, service, or financial offering. AFCPE reserves the right to disqualify submissions that create actual or perceived conflicts of interest or are inconsistent with the organization’s nonprofit mission and ethical standards. 

Award Criteria:

  • Scope, timeliness, and scholarship
  • Relevance to financial counselors and planners
  • Accessibility
  • Cost relative to value
  • Authors’ expertise
  • Originality
  • Strength of breadth, depth, or both
  • Whenever possible, include a copy ( or link) of the article, periodical, book, podcast, consumer brochure, computer program, web pages, newsletter, or audiovisual material for the committee’s review.
  • Submitted materials must have been published, launched, or substantially updated within the past 24 months.
