Nominee must be an AFC in good standing
Award Criteria:
- Documented service in financial counseling and education
- Evidence of client and or community impact, including behavior change, knowledge gains, empowerment, or improved financial capability and wellness.
- Relevance and importance of educational or counseling activities
- Innovation in approach, this may include adapting services creatively to meet community needs, not only developing new models
- Service to the profession
- Mentoring and support that recognizes the whole person beyond personal finances
Evidence may include qualitative or quantitative outcomes, testimonials, assessments, program metrics, publications, partnerships, or other supporting documentation.
AFCPE encourages nominations representing diverse professional settings, backgrounds, communities served, and career stages.
The Financial Counselor of the Year award includes a plaque and $500.

*If the recipient is unable to accept the monetary award, AFCPE may direct the funds, at the recipient’s request, to the AFCPE Strategic Impact Fund or another eligible nonprofit organization approved by AFCPE.
